Below are some Frequently Asked Question's (FAQ) to help you if you're a first time visitor!
What does a typical worship service look like?
BEFC serves people from Brooks & surrounding communities. We have an excellent mix of people that are single, married, families, teens, young adults, seniors, and different ethnicities.
We have one service that begins at 10AM. Our service lasts about 70 minutes. Our congregational singing is led by a live worship team. We also have a congregational prayer time before the Sermon, led by our Elders or Deaconess.
Communion
On the first Sunday of every month our church partakes in Communion. Communion was instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper as a symbol of the new covenant he created by dying on the cross for our sins. The Evangelical Free Church understands that through the bread and juice (1) we remember Christ’s death, (2) we participate in Christ’s life, (3) we fellowship with Christ’s body, and (4) we think of Christ’s coming. Communion itself does not save us. It is better understood as a visible and tangible sign of the gospel and serve to strengthen our faith. Only those who have committed their life to Jesus are encouraged to partake of the elements.
Coffee & tea is available during and after service in the foyer.
What about my kids?
BEFC has a BeFree Kids program and Nursery available during the service. BeFree Kids dismissal happens near the beginning of service, with programs running for kids Age 2 to Grade 4. If you would like to send your kids to BeFree, there is a sign-in table in the foyer towards the south wing of our building.
Nursery is available for kids ages 0-2 during the service and is located down the hallway past the kitchen.
How can I get connected?
If you would like to get connected at BEFC, we ask you to fill out the Connect form located in the "Connect" section of our website. Alternatively, we have Connect cards located at the Welcome Desk at church. Once you've filled out the forms, a staff member from the church will get in touch with you.
