Bible Reading Plan

Want to learn more about the Bible? The Bible reading plan is an opportunity for you to dig into the scriptures. Our church has a group on the You version Bible app that goes through the Bible in a year. The plan allows you to read on the same plan as fellow church members and contribute thoughts and insights in a group message (if you are comfortable enough to).

The Bible Recap Book Club

Baptism is a symbol that expresses the dramatic change that takes place when we receive Jesus as Savior (Romans 6:1-10, Colossians 2:12). If you have confessed Jesus as your savior, then Baptism is the next step to publicly declare your faith. In baptism we are paired with Jesus in his death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:1-4). The emphasis is on the new life we receive in coming out of the water. While it does not save a person or guarantee their new life, it does symbolize the newness of life Jesus has called us into.

Spiritual Gifts

The New Testament identifies a new task for believers when the Holy Spirit equips us with spiritual gifts. Several places in the New Testament explain lists of spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12:4-11; Rom 12:3-8; Eph 4:1-11-12), but the lists are not meant to be exhaustive. God equips the church with all sorts of gifts to build up the body (1 Cor 14:12,26; Eph 4:11) which is why it is vital to the church for each one to use their spiritual gift. If you are unsure of your spiritual gift, take the quiz and contact pastor Jeridyn (jeridyn@brooksefc) to talk about where God may be leading you to plug into the church body.
